On view artworks by Tancredi, Guidi, Morandis and Licata focused on the production of the 50s and 60s
There is time until January 26th to visit “ancredi, Guidi, Morandis, Licata. 4 anniversari Spazialisti”, the exhibition that, with a careful selection of artworks by four masters of the ‘900 in the anniversary of their death - Tancredi Parmeggiani (1927-1964), Virgilio Guidi (1891-1984), Gino Morandis (1915-1994) and Riccardo Licata (1929-2014) - offers the opportunity to rediscover and deepen these interpreters, facing through their works the story of a “Space-Time dimension that, in some way, linked sensitivities and projects so different: those of a group of young and old who, in the 50s and 60s in Venice, managed to leave a trace never more equalled in contemporary art: the Venetian spatialists”.
A summary of 50 years of beautiful Italian painting through the story in pictures of 4 protagonists
Organized by the Municipality of Crocetta del Montello and curated by Giovanni Granzotto in collaboration with Antonella Alban and Stefano Cecchetto, the exhibition is added to that already in progress in Sacile - always dedicated to the 4 anniversaries and always curated by Granzotto - but offering the visitor a scientific cut even more focused on the 50s and 60s of the painting in Venice.
The space-time dimension is the link of their different sensibilities and projects
Here, then, the halls of Villa Ancilotto filled with artworks by Virgilio Guidi, from pre-spatialist tests animated by plastic light of the late ‘20, ‘30 and early ‘40 to the most conceptually spatialistic paintings of the 60s; with three unpublished artworks - two self-portraits and a portrait of 1948 - by Tancredi, for whom spatialism was the beating heart of his entire artistic experience; with a rich selection of works by Gino Morandis from the 1960s, witnesses of a lyrical spatialism, while the relationship between spatialism and surrealism of the second half of the 1950s and the first half of the 1960s is the dominant one in Riccardo Licata’s dream works.
The occasion of the exhibition is the rediscovery and deepening of the Venetian spatialists
