Emotions on Canvas - Milan: Solo show by Antonella Quacchia at MyOwnGallery - Superstudio Più

The exhibition “Orizzonti sensibili” addresses issues such as environmental protection, sustainability, the relationship of man with nature

40 works to tell the interiority of Antonella Quacchia in connection with the world. This is the personal exhibition hosted by MyOwnGallery - Superstudio Più in Milan, in Via Tortona that testifies the evolution of the city area in an artistic crossroads.

The urban path of the district transformation, seat of the exhibition, in some ways, can be linked to that of the author, who has held professional roles in environments apparently antithetical to the free expression, today typical of his poetics. Stable for years in Geneva, from Cern (European Center for Nuclear Research) to the UN, after graduating in computer science, her history is dotted with logic, scientific rigor and depth of vision.

COLOR SPOTS AND MANY LIGHT POINT ARE CONNECTED IN SOME WORKS WITH EARTHY TONES

For this reason, it is even more special to consider the ease with which, at a certain point, she holds the brush, releasing the emotions freely, which will be imprinted on a canvas with grace and vivacity. “Sensitive horizons”, until December 8th, is the exhibition curated by Fortunato D’Amico in which different series such as Our Planet, Floating Forms, Serendipity, Amo la vita address issues such as environmental protection, sustainability, the relationship of man with nature in an optimistic approach, formulated by the use of disruptive white on color spots and many light points.

SHE OFFERS TO THE VISITOR A SUSPENDED SPACE IN WHICH TO POUR SENSATIONS AND NEW CONNECTIONS

There are connections with reality, through earthy tones in some works and forms known in others, however open to a personal interpretation. The approach that Quacchia stimulates in the user is, in fact, active, imaginative: a suspended space in which to pour their sensations and conceive new connections.

The scenarios represented by a two-part subdivision of the work are striking, where a monochromatic field prevails over an expressionist, abstract area, almost dominating it and opening to boundless horizons of possibilities. His positions of responsibility, also in structuring international ethical policies at the ILO (International Labour Organization), are the basis of an active vision of change, transposed in confidence towards a fallacious society, yes, but full of opportunities.

THE ARTIST, AFTER A LONG ACTIVITY OF RESPONSIBILITY AT CERN IN GENEVA, DEDICATES HERSELF TO PAINTING WITH AN IMAGINATIVE APPROACH

The investigation of duality, the struggle between opposites, is not limited to the coexistence of rational and irrational but is pushed in the comparison between macro and micro, between real and spiritual, between errors and solutions. The artist currently lives and works between Vienna and Prague and has several exhibitions in European cities, such as Paris, London, Madrid, among others.

The one in Milan is also an opportunity to publish the bilingual monograph, which bears the title of the exhibition, published by Giorgio Mondadori Editore.
